Construction-related activities continue on the Washington Bridge Rebuild project, with design, soil sampling, geographic surveying, permit applications, and the ordering of materials.
On Tuesday nights, February 10 and 17, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting, maintenance crews are scheduled to sweep the interstate, ramps and bridges along I-195, in a moving operation from I-95 to the Massachusetts line. Weather permitting, we also are scheduled to close up to two lanes for continued bridge preventative maintenance activities on I-195 West at the Washington Bridge, Sunday-Thursday nights, February 15-19 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The approved in-water demolition has been completed to the required elevations. Next week, demolition crews will be continuing post-completion inspections and cleanup. Turbidity curtains will remain in place during this time.
